Side Menu/QuickLaunch:


A. The same side menu will appear on every page on the intranet home page site. To modify it, go to the Gear icon/Site contents for SharePoint 2013 users (or Site Actions/View All Site Content for SharePoint 2010 users) and click the sysQuickLaunch list.

B. You can change the ordering of the items in the list by changing the SortOrder value in each item (the items appear sequentially based on that value).

Links:


A. You can display frequently visited links in these web parts. There are 3 to choose from: Links, Links With Images, and Links with Images 2 Columns.


B. The Links web part gets it data from the list named "Links". The other 2 get their data from the list named "LinksWithImages".


C. For the Links With Images web parts, a column exists called Picture URL. You can upload your icons to a new or existing picture library.
